Letter: Guest columnist's generosity praised

I have been involved in the world of nonprofit and fund-raising in Las Vegas for 28 years. In all these years, I have never met any business owner as generous, gracious and community-oriented as Tom Kaplan. I am embarrassed to say that I must have asked him for gifts, food, donations, etc. on at least 10 or 12 different occasions for various organizations.

Tom has never said no. Unfortunately, the reason I have always gone to him is because his restaurants are among the few that are so forthcoming. Tom and the rest of the Wolfgang Puck crew should know how much the many nonprofit organizations in town do appreciate them.

We can only repay him by continuing to take our paying business to his many fine restaurants where locals are always treated like they are special. Thank you, Tom, for your timely and much needed plea to other local businesses "to give back to the community." I hope they listen.
