Pilot killed in crash of ultralight plane

The crash of an ultralight plane near Boulder City today took the life of the pilot, Boulder City Police said.
The accident occurred about 8:45 a.m. on Eldorado dry lake off U.S. 95 south of the city, officials said.
The crash was witnessed by people flying radio-controlled planes in the area. They told authorities that the ultralight, a small-engined aircraft, fell out of the sky and spiraled into the ground.
The identity of the pilot was withheld until family members could be notified.
The Federal Aviation Administration was on the scene early today to begin its investigation.
