Las Vegas area fishing report

LAKE MEAD: Anglers continue to find fair action for striped bass with fish being caught in the Boulder Basin by trolling deep and by casting top water lures.

John Hutchings, Nevada Division of Wildlife biologist at the lake, said this year's relatively low threadfin shad population is responsible for the thin fish that are now being seen. The spawn of the forage fish was below normal.

LAKE MOHAVE: Striped bass ranging from 15-18 inches are being caught by trolling deep in Arizona Bay, Nevada Bay and Owl's Point.
