Letter: America shows no regard for trusted ally -- Greeks

Greece has an earthquake -- the worst in a century -- and the news is relegated to a tiny article on page 10.

We Greeks gave you medicine, mathematics, music, science, astronomy, military strategy and theater. We fiercely fought side-by-side for you in World War II. We even saved several brave but troubled American forces with fiery Greek battalions that were legendary. We revered everything "American," yet you have done nothing but spurn the Greeks.

The Turks' "humanity" is still in question, but America is sucking up to them.

You are losing a vibrant, vital ally with your supercilious ways, America. That also goes for the two dailies in Southern Nevada. Bravo! You really rewrote history on this score.
