Victoria Lynn Adams

Victoria Lynn Adams, 36, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 20, 1963, in Illinois. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Brittany Kees; her mother, Patricia Jonas; two brothers, Robert and Brian; and one sister, Shannon Lax.

Gayle Anderson

Gayle Anderson, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1918, in Norco, Calif. A resident for 32 years, he was a Clark County security guard for 10 years and a Navy veteran.

Jack Lee Bonebrake

Jack Lee Bonebrake, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Texas. A resident for most of his adult life, he was a pit boss for the Tropicana hotel-casino and a Coast Guard veteran.

Jody Lynn Brown

Jody Lynn Brown, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born May 16, 1924, in Roswell, N.M. A resident for 36 years, she was a church secretary.

She is survived by one son, Dean Brown of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Linda Childers of Las Vegas, Judy Deavours of Farmington, N.M., and Vicky Walter of Moapa Valley; one brother, Mack "Buddy" Cantwell of Dallas; two sisters, Jean Jones of Carlsbad, N.M., and Barbara Pinkert of Slayton, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in Echoes of Faith Church, 1401 E. Washington Ave. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Cedric Lee Carter

Cedric Lee Carter, 31, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1968, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was an automobile detailer.

He is survived by his wife, Tonette; three sons, Cedric Lee Carter Jr., Demarcus Carter and Tavion Carter, his parents, Robert Lee Carter Sr. and Cheryl Forrester, one brother, Robert Lee Carter Jr., one sister, Lisa Michelle Carter, and his grandmother, Geraldine Ford, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Baptist Church, 1439 Lawry Ave. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mildred S. Darhanian

Mildred S. Darhanian, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Atlantic City, N.J. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, George; two sisters, Sylvia Zarkin of Honolulu and Ruth Phillips of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be private. Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Douglas Howard Ferguson

Douglas Howard Ferguson, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 17, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 23 years, he was a wedding chapel director and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; three sons, Thomas Ferguson, Sam Ferguson and Kenneth Ferguson, and one brother, Charles Kenneth Ferguson, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Mary A. Frazier

Mary A. Frazier, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 23, 1933, in Virginia. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, P. Frederick; one daughter, Debra Smith of Lathrop, Calif.; three sons, Frederick Frazier of Las Vegas, David Frazier of Philadelphia and Barry Frazier of England; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Robert Furci

Robert Furci, 86, of Las Vegas died Sept. 8 in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 20 years, he was a fuel oil dealer for 44 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Leonora.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Guardian Angel Cathedral, 336 Cathedral Way. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Joan Lutz

Joan Lutz, 68, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Ohio. A resident for 16 years, she was a nurse's aide.

She is survived by three sons, Mitchell Lutz of Henderson and Jerry Mossholder and Ray Noble Lutz, both of Ohio; one daughter, Belinda England of Pahrump; two brothers, Delbert Ralston and Donald Ralston, both of Ohio; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert S. McArdle

Robert S. McArdle, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born May 21, 1928, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 25 years, he was a manager with Desert Chrysler Plymouth for 22 years and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores H.; one son, Glenn McArdle and one daughter, Peggy Ann GiBoney, both of California; two sisters, Marie Radcliffe and Jeanette Feiter, both of Arizona; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is handling arrangements.

Ernest B. Martinez, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Fort Sumner, N.M. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a gardener.

He is survived by four daughters, Donna and Geraldine, both of Las Vegas, Virginia of Colorado and Annabell of California; one brother, Christian of Colorado; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Melba I. Morrison

Melba I. Morrison, 83, of Las Vegas died Sept. 3 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Banner Ranch, Wyo. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired florist.

She is survived by four sons, Theodore Morrison and Gary Morrison, both of Las Vegas, and Robert Morrison and Ed Morrison, both of San Jose, Calif.; one daughter, Dawn Morrison of San Jose; one brother, Lee Bullington of Hawaii; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Marcelino G. 'Ozzie' Ozuna

Marcelino G. "Ozzie" Ozuna, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Erie. A lifelong Nevada resident, he was a retired carpenter, a World War II Air Force veteran, a member of the Carpenters Local 1780 since 1942 and American Legion Post 8.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara; one daughter, Rebecca A. Hughes, four sons, Michael G. Ozuna, Martin C. Ozuna, Philip D. Ozuna and Paul L. Ozuna, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Rosalva Flores and Lupe Corral, both of Las Vegas, and Eleanor Hernandez of California; four brothers, Bernard Ozuna, Andrew Ozuna and Richard Ozuna, all of Las Vegas, and Frank Ozuna of California; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park Northwest.

Maxine R. Richards, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born May 1, 1924, in Los Angeles. A resident for 43 years, she was a retired singer, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Elks Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the German-American Club.

She is survived by two sons, Obed Silverwood of San Clemente, Calif., and Kirk Dauenhauer of Pahrump; one sister, Helen Meyers of Carlsbad, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be private.

Luz Maria Rios

Luz Maria Rios, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 15, 1920, in the Dominican Republic. A resident for 22 years, she was a casino porter at the Hilton.

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo; one brother, Daniel Perez; and two sisters, Olga Olivarez and Hilda Olivarez.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Nellie U. Scott, 92, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Oklahoma. A resident for 45 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one niece, Lillian Updegraff Simien of Grover Beach, Calif.

Alexander R. Gean Spears

Alexander R. Gean Spears, 6 months, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Warren and Karen Spears, one sister, Angelica Jean and Sandra Jean, and one brother, Aaron Spears, all of Las Vegas; several aunts and uncles, all of Germany; and his grandparents, Willa and Willie Goodman of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Waldo Spears of Livermore, Calif.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Heather Shanas, 24, of Las Vegas died Aug. 14 in Las Vegas. She was born April 5, 1975, in Skokie, Ill. A resident for two years, she was a schoolteacher.

She is survived by her mother, Renee Shanas, and one uncle, Terry Kelman, both of Tucson, Ariz.

She is survived by one son, F. David Weber of Strongville, Ohio; one daughter, Florence Weber-Javers of Las Vegas; two sisters, Clara Owen Shaddwick of Antigo, Wis., and Vi Hurlburt of Bath, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo O.; one son, Ted Whitmire of Dallas; one brother, Eugene Sparks; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
