Hell's Angels hand out turkeys

The Hell's Angels members took part Saturday at Rita Cannan Elementary School here in the 9th annual Sally Burgess Conforte Memorial Turkey Giveaway.

The event was started by Sally Burgess Conforte, wife of former Mustang Ranch brothel owner Joe Conforte. She died in 1992.

Her nephew, David Burgess, head of the local Hell's Angels, rounded up volunteers from the motorcycle club to hand out the turkeys.

"I do this in memory of my Aunt Sally," Burgess said. "She always liked to give back to the community. This tradition is what she gave to me."

"We always get so much bad publicity," added Phil Mulhilly, vice president of the local Hell's Angels. "By doing something like this, we want to let people know that we're human beings as well."

The Hell's Angels members joined forces with community charity organizer Evelyn Mount at the event.
