Analyst, author join on business forecast program

A Washington political analyst will join a technology expert and a handful of local leaders in a business forecast program sponsored by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the Nevada Development Authority.
Preview Las Vegas 2001 will feature political analyst William Kristol, editor and publisher of the Weekly Standard and a commentator on several Washington-based political broadcasts on the program. Jack Shaw, a technology expert and author, also will discuss the digital economy at the event Jan. 24 at 8:15 a.m. at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center.
A slate of local speakers also is on the program. Addressing the half-day event, which is $50 for chamber and NDA members and $70 for nonmembers, are Gary Loveman, chief operating officer of Harrah's Entertainment Inc.; Rossi Ralenkotter, vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority; and Billy Vassiliadis, chief executive officer of R&R Partners advertising agency.
Also speaking will be Mark Suman, co-founder and vice president of strategic planning for National Airlines; Carol Harter, president of UNLV; and Keith Schwer, director of UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research. Also on the program will be a panel discussion moderated by Richard Lee, director of public relations for First American Title Co. Joining him on the panel will be W. Stewart Gibbons, executive vice president of the Howard Hughes Corp.; Frank Pankratz, senior vice president and general manager of the Del Webb Corp.; and John Kilduff, president of American Nevada Corp.
