Letter: Angel with badge helps on highway

A man wearing Metro police khakis came to our aid on a recent morning around 8:15 a.m. on U.S. 95 north near Exit 77. My husband and I were on our way to church when our car suddenly blew its right front tire, so we had to pull over to change the tire. It was cold and my husband was having a difficult time getting the tire off. I knew he was in trouble when he mentioned how he'd welcome a policeman's assistance.

Right about then Officer D. Freeman was driving by so I hailed him down and he came to our rescue and helped my husband change the tire. Officer Freeman was very polite and efficient, and in my book he is an angel.

We went on to church and said a prayer of thanks to God for sending us an angel. Than you, Officer Freeman -- you are a credit to the police department and we appreciate your help.
