Man killed in single-car accident

The victim's name was not immediately released. The Nevada Highway Patrol said he was a 47-year-old man from Fort Collins.

The victim had apparently just passed a 2000 Ford pickup truck on Nevada 140 when his Jeep drifted off the roadway Monday afternoon about 55 miles north of Winnemucca, the patrol said.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle when he overcorrected and the Jeep overturned.

Three people were in the pickup truck. Though the truck struck some debris from the accident, no one in the truck was injured, the patrol said.
