Benjamin Sonny Aliason

Benjamin Sonny Aliason, 74, of Las Vegas died Dec. 19 in a local hospital. He was born March 13, 1926, in Aiea, Hawaii. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired warehouseman for the federal government and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette T.; one daughter, Rosalie Smith of Portland, Ore.; one son, Russell Aliason of Las Vegas; one brother, Peter Aliason of San Jose, Calif.; seven sisters, Fely Sugui, Madeline Oliva and Dolly Yokoi, all of Hawaii, Rose Sabala of Las Vegas, Chris Boyd of New York City and Leah Alporque and Linda Chow, both of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jerald Payne Booker

Jerald Payne Booker, 55, of Bakersfield, Calif., died Dec. 18. He was born July 18, 1945, in Coffeyville, Kan. A former resident of Las Vegas for many years, he was a counselor in Kern County, a member of Kappa Alpha PSI, and an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by three daughters, Jacinda Aiken of Alta Loma, Calif., Jennifer Booker of Las Vegas and Janelle Booker of Bakersfield.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Arline C. Miller

Arline C. Miller, 82, of Las Vegas died Dec. 17 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Denver. A resident for 51 years, she was a nanny.

She is survived by one son, Donald T. Merritt Sr., and four daughters, Linda A. Rand, Courtney Bridges, Katie Zapanic and Kelly Fain, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

Dennis M. Sabbath

Dennis M. Sabbath, 57, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born July 17, 1943, in New York City. A resident for 30 years, he was an attorney and a member of the Clark County Bar Association and Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; one daughter, Shana Lauren Sabbath of Henderson; two sons, Adam Sabbath of Las Vegas and Jonathan P. Sabbath of Henderson; and two brothers, Larry Sabbath of Fairfax, Va., and Steven Sabbath of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. is handling arrangements.

John Sobczak Sr.

John Sobczak Sr., 92, of Las Vegas died Dec. 19 in Las Vegas. He was born June 16, 1908, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for four years, he was a life insurance agent for the Metropolitan Insurance Company.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Madeline; two sons, John Sobczak and Stanley Sobczak, and one daughter, Madeline N. Sobczak, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-6 p.m. with a 3 p.m. rosary Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Burial will be in Bunkers Memory Gardens.

Debra E. Zacker

Debra E. Zacker, 43, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 28, 1957, in Coronado, Calif. A resident for 21 years, she was a school teacher at Rex Bell, Griffith and Jacobson Elementary and Cashman, Jr. High Schools and was a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

She is survived by one daughter, Dawn Zacker, one son, Joshua L. Zacker, and her parents, Wallace W. and Mildred Page, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Michael W. Page and Robert R. Page, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Wallace R. Page of Warren, Rhode Island; and three sisters, Susan C. Page of Las Vegas, Angela Medeiros of Warren and Margaret R. McGarvey of Kent, Wash.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will be noon Monday in Palm Memorial Park.
