Police probe shooting that leaves two dead

Police today were still investigating the killing of two men found gunned down in front of an apartment complex in southern Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police that they heard an argument between a group of men just before 3 a.m., and that soon after the argument started, shots rang out at the apartments near the intersection of Swenson Street and Sierra Vista Drive.

The two victims have not yet been identified, and a third victim was found in a neighboring apartment complex suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The third victim, who is 17 years old, remained at University Medical Center this morning in fair condition.

Sunday's shooting deaths are the 12th and 13th homicides in Metro's jurisdiction this year.

Police say two suspects were seen running from the area right after the shooting. Both are described as dark-skinned men, possibly in their 30s.

The first is between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall, 180 pounds with very short dark hair. The second man was between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build, and a fade haircut cut very close on the sides and longer on top.
