America West flight returns when smoke smelled in cockpit

America West Airlines says one of its planes bound for New York returned to Las Vegas after the smell of smoke was noticed in the cockpit.

The 119 passengers were placed on another flight.

A McCarran International Airport spokeswoman said no one on Flight 133 was injured.

Patty Nowack, an America West spokeswoman, said the pilot turned back to Las Vegas about 10:30 a.m. Sunday after smelling a light smoke odor. She said an inspection of the A320 Airbus found oil on an inlet to the plane's auxiliary power unit. Nowack said the problem was not serious and the plane was put back into service Sunday.
