MVPs named in prep girls divisions

Silverado's Jayme Connors, Las Vegas High's Jamsere Kirby, Centennial's Tenecia Jackson and Bishop Gorman's Liz Cansdale were named MVPs for their respective divisions by area girls basketball coaches Tuesday night after a regular season in which all four led their teams to division titles.

Joining Connors and Kirby on the All-Sunrise Region squad were: Green Valley's Desiree Broadnax, Valley's Jennifer Brooks, Eldorado's Sheena Harvey, Silverado's Nikki Hitchens, Desert Pines' Shamieka Holmes, Valley's Zerina Pollard, Rancho's Amy Rucker, Vo-Tech's Keisha Stevenson and Chaparral's Krystal Turner.

Along with Jackson and Cansdale, the All-Sunset Region team was comprised of: Cheyenne's Tiffaney Adams, Durango's Danielle Boyack, Bonanza's Lindsay Gensler, Durango's Shelli Gordon, Mojave's Nicole Ireland, Cimarron-Memorial's Nikki Richards, Centennial's Darci Sandoval, Gorman's Tiffney Touton.
