Francis Kahalekui Amado

Francis Kahalekui Amado, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Hakalau, Hawaii. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired security officer at the Las Vegas Club and a retired Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marie M.; four sons, Kenneth K. Amado of Hawaii and Daven K. Amado, William K. Amado and Joshua P. Amado, all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Beverly P. Lamprich of Las Vegas and Loddie P. Amado of California; three brothers, Absalon Amodo, Rudy Amodo and Joe Amodo, all of Hawaii; eight sisters, Elizabeth Gustavus of Las Vegas, Louise Cooper of Tennessee, Margaret Reldel, Katie Perry, Mary Kalhe and Ester Root, all of Hawaii, and Rose Hawk and Harriet Quick, both of California; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in River of Life Fellowship, 3089 Schiff Drive. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

John William Amburgey

John William Amburgey, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a construction worker.

He is survived by one brother, George Amburgey, and one sister, Helen Ammons, both of San Bernardino.

Glenn E. Ash

Glenn E. Ash, 46, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. He was born July 13, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 21 years, he was a hotel bartender.

He is survived by two daughters, Jenna Ash and Joey Ash, and one son, Jordan Ash, all of Henderson; and one sister, Marcia Risdon of Long Beach.

Winfred Ravis Bailey

Winfred Ravis Bailey, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Oklahoma. A resident for 15 years, he was a lab technician for NASA, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Palmdale, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, June; two sons, William Bailey and Clayton Keith Bailey; two daughters, Sandra Stevens and Judy Hardy; one sister, Helen Harris; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Daniel W. Broadaway

Daniel W. Broadaway, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Rockmart, Ga. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired Air Force technical sergeant and was a Korean War veteran, a member of the Masonic Low 12 Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one son, Ron Broadaway of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Barbara Jean Butta

Barbara Jean Butta, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 20, 1932, in Steubenville, Ohio. A resident for 42 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Enrico; four sons, Frank Butta, Michael Butta and Paul Butta, all of Las Vegas, and Rick Butta of San Diego; two sisters, Erla Werkin of Steubenville and Betty Bush of Youngstown, Ohio; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Alexander P. DePadre Sr.

Alexander P. DePadre Sr., 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was a plumber and a member of Plumbers Local 525.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores F.; one son, Louis F. DePadre; one brother, Peter DePadre; and one sister, Theresa D'Agostino.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; six sons, Robert "Red" Hendrix, Frank "Bee" DePadre and Richard Mease, all of the Town of Niagara, N.Y., Nicholas DePadre of Casa Grande, Ariz., Alex P. DePadre Jr. of Amherst, N.Y., and Henry DePadre of Chili, N.Y.; two daughters, Maria Hall and Josephine "JoJo" DePadre-Siejka, both of the Town of Niagara; one brother, Vincenzo "Jimmy" DePadre, and four sisters, Angelina Dinino, Mary Solady, Carmela Tedesco and Jenny Bator, all of Niagara Falls; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Doralynn 'Doe' Fedele

Doralynn 'Doe' Fedele, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Montrose, Colo. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired department store saleswoman.

She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Dubuc of Las Vegas and Karen Smith of Fort Collins, Colo.; one son, Steven Fedele of Las Vegas; two sisters, Alma Breschini and Margie Hartman, both of Soledad, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Maurice Gedance

Maurice Gedance, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1910, in Geneva, Switzerland. A resident for 54 years, he was a retired insurance broker, a member of the Rotary Club of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Country Club.

He is survived by one son, Alan Gedance of Severna Park, Md.; one sister, Miriam Britton of Kent, England; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Richard Herrera, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1949, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for seven years, he was a Luxor hotel runner for seven years and an employee at Best Buy.

He is survived by his wife, Isela; two sons, Isaac D. Rivas of El Paso and Richard John Herrera of Las Vegas; his parents, Virginia S. and Jose Ruben Cortez, two sisters, Patricia Spina and Christina Cortez, and one brother, Joseph Cortez, all of Chicago.

Visitation is scheduled 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

John Patrick Hicks

John Patrick Hicks, 11, of Henderson died Friday in a Los Angeles children's hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1988, in Plymouth, Mass. A resident for five years, he was a student at Fay Galloway Elementary School, a member of Weblo Pack 13 Cub Scouts in Henderson and played baseball in the Henderson Little League.

He is survived by his parents, Dave and Jolene Hicks, and two sisters, Erin Hicks and Megan Hicks, all of Henderson; his grandparents, Pat and Jack Hicks of Plymouth, Mass., and Terry and Becky Fox of Pensacola, Fla.; and his two great-grandmothers, Alice Hicks of Billerica, Mass., and Mildred Walsh of Quincy, Mass.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be private.

Michael Kinder Sr.

Michael Kinder Sr., 60, of North Las Vegas died Feb. 9 in North Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1939, in Nevada. A lifelong resident, he was a roofer.

He is survived by one son, Michael Kinder Jr. of Virginia; one daughter, Allison Ross of North Carolina; one brother, Joel Kinder of Idaho; one sister, Myrna Berbick of Washington state; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the LDS chapel, Civic Center Drive and Tonopah Avenue. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Doris L. Lamendola

Doris L. Lamendola, 49, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 12, 1950, in Maine. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James J.; one son, Rodney L. Lamendola, and two daughters, Lynette R. Lamendola and Shannon F. Lund, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Henry Kenneth Latimer

Henry Kenneth Latimer, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Sturgeon, Mo. A resident for nine years, he was a taxicab driver for five years for Checker Cab Co. and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn J.; one sister, Blanche Roberts, and one brother, William Bill Latimer, both of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy A. Lesnick

Dorothy A. Lesnick, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 13, 1936, in Connecticut. A resident for 36 years, she was a homemaker, past PTA president at Paradise Elementary School and vice president of Lesnick Art Studio.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen W.; one daughter, Dorothy Ann Waldron; her mother, Matilda "Betty" Dumbrowski; one sister, Carol Woods; and eight grandchildren.

Douglas J. Mattoon, 53, of Las Vegas died Feb. 9 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Springfield, Mass. A resident for one year, he worked in the computer industry.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia; one son, Robert Mattoon; one daughter, Laura; and two grandchildren, Delilah and Zeke.

Edward Eugene Mowery, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Oklahoma. A resident for 43 years, he was a forklift operator and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; four sons, Charles Conrad Mowery of Las Vegas and Edward E. Mowery II, Joseph Alan Mowery and James Michael Mowery, all of Henderson; two daughters, Katheryn Boback of Henderson and Eugenia Louise Heath of Las Vegas; one sister, Wanda Rollins of Arkansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Catherine Noble

Catherine Noble, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 19 years, she was a factory worker.

She is survived by five daughters, Roberta Noble of Las Vegas, Kathy Noble of Illinois, Alice Allgire of Centerville, Ill., Jorjann Begley of Woodstock, Ill., and Mary Noble of Adams, Wis.; one son, Michael Noble of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bernice Taylor Parshall

Bernice Taylor Parshall, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Marysvale, Utah. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker and an Army veteran.

She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Glen and Bruce, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Ardis of Orem, Utah; one brother, Melvin Taylor of Phoenix; three sisters, Evelyn Taylor of Salt Lake City, Janice Fewkes of Hemet, Calif., and Carole Adams of Layton, Utah; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Juan Rivas, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 20, 1918, in Montaya, Texas. A resident for three years, he was a retired housekeeper in the medical profession.

He is survived by three daughters, Lupe Ramirez of El Paso, Texas, and Jsela Herrera and Cecilia Villegas, both of Las Vegas; five sons, Ruben Rivas, Rudy Rivas, Hector Rivas and Martin G. Rivas, all of Las Vegas, and Juan M. Rivas of El Paso; one brother, Tomas Rivas of El Paso; one sister, Teresa Rivas of Mexico City; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Diana Marie Shaw, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1954, in Indiana. A resident for five years, she was a nurse's aide.

She is survived by one son, Russell; two daughters, Adina and Ruth; her father, Harry; one brother, Ernest; her grandmother, Goldie Breech; and four grandchildren.

Charles C. Sheldon, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a security guard for the El Cortez, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Masons and the Shriners.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; five sons, Richard Sheldon, Donald Sheldon and David Sheldon, all of Elyria, Ohio, John Clinton of Grass Valley, Calif., and Gerald Clinton of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Ava Clinton of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.

Gabriel J. Solano-Avila, 32, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 24, 1967, in Mexico. A resident for six years, he was a dining room runner at a local hotel.

He is survived by his mother, Sara Solano-Avila, and one sister, Sara Avila, both of Mexico; and three brothers, Luis Avila and Arturo Avila, both of California, and Jose Salvador of Mexico.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 5 p.m. Mass in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Thomas J. Speir

Thomas J. Speir, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Ecorse, Mich. A resident for seven years, he retired from the Navy after 26 years.

He is survived by three sons, Bryan Scott Speir of Las Vegas, Thomas J. Speir Jr. of San Francisco and Robert J. Speir of Oklahoma; one daughter, Sue Ann Cannon of Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Speir of Ecorse; four sisters, Jackie Marth and Barbara Bensek, both of Whitelake, Mich., and Mary Bergeron and Joanne Austin, both of Southgate, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.

Martha Mae Welsh, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Marshall County, Ind. A resident for four years, she was in the carpet and restaurant business.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; four sons, John David Finch of Phoenix, Phillip Arthur Rhode of Reed City, Mich., Rickie Welsh of Las Vegas and Len Welsh of Caruthersville, Mo.; two daughters, Robin Patton of Reed City and Stacey Abbott of Atlanta; one sister, Dorothy Murdock of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
