Reveler falls to his death on Las Vegas Strip

A reveler trying to walk across a lightpole over the Las Vegas Strip during the millennium celebration was jolted by electricity and fell to his death.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, climbed a lightpole in front of the Paris hotel-casino just before midnight. Witnesses told police that the man grabbed a wire that was connected to a construction project.

The man then lost his balance and fell to the ground. Clark County Sheriff Jerry Keller said early Saturday that police weren't sure if the man was electrocuted or was killed by the fall.
