15-year-old British skier hits tree, dies

The girl apparently died of blunt trauma to her head, according to the Douglas County sheriff's office. She was skiing in bounds on the Nevada side, without a helmet.
The Heavenly Valley Ski Patrol and fire department officials tried to revive the girl, who was touring the United States with a school group.
Her name has not been released, as authorities attempt to notify her parents in England.
The Heavenly resort straddles the California-Nevada border.
