Donald Bones

Donald Bones, 73, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born May 13, 1926, in Huntington Park, Calif. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired plumber, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Navy Armed Guard veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; six sons, Thomas Bones of El Monte, Calif., Robert Bones of San Marcos, Calif., Daniel Bones of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., David Bones of Henderson, Jack Bones of Grand Junction, Colo., and Jon Bones of San Clemente, Calif.; one sister, Evelyn Rodgers of Hemet, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Gertrude Emily Cooper

Gertrude Emily Cooper, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1912, in Illinois. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas F.; three sons, Thomas L. Cooper, Gerald Cooper and John Cooper, all of Illinois; one daughter, Mary Ann Suver of Las Vegas; three sisters, Myrtle Rueger and Florence Burger and Dorothy Rogulich, both of Illinois; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Joseph Allen Deininger

Joseph Allen Deininger, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. He was born June 5, 1928, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 12 years, he was a writer/publisher and a World War II Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three sons, Steven A. Deininger and Michael Deininger, both of Texas, and Gregory Deininger of California; seven daughters, Amy Deininger, Stephanie Deininger, Veronica Deininger, Victoria Dejesu and Gretchen England, all of Texas, Rebecca Deininger of Nevada and Penny Deininger of Las Vegas; and one sister, Mary Jane Kutz of Pennsylvania.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Cynthia Diane Dobson

Cynthia Diane Dobson, 41, of Las Vegas died Dec. 25 in Las Vegas. She was born April 9, 1958, in Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Harlon Samual; two sons, Harlon Samual Dobson II and Lucas Delos Dobson; two sisters, Christina and Rita; her parents, Shirley and Gerald Eldridge; her grandmother, Ruth Marie McClannahan; and one grandson, Harlon Samual Dobson III.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Virginia Empringham

Virginia Empringham, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 7, 1929, in Midwest, Wyo. A resident for 28 years, she was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Richard W.; one son, Richard M. Empringham of San Diego; one daughter, Carmelita Empringham of Denver; one brother, Matthew J. Connors of Livermore, Calif.; and two sisters, Barbara Hollowwa and Carmelita Karo, both of Albuquerque.

Helen English

Helen English, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born July 1, 1915, in Cleveland. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Loren English of Las Vegas; one daughter, Nancy Parent of Phoenix; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Gateway Baptist Church, 1900 Gateway Road. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Mattie R. Eppenger

Mattie R. Eppenger, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 19, 1921, in Arkansas. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired cook for the Aladdin hotel-casino and a member of the Fordyce Club.

She is survived by three daughters, Maxine Fleming, Hazel Winters and Ruth D'Hont, all of Las Vegas; three sons, Ben Eppenger of Anchorage, Alaska, and Billy Eppenger Jr. and Jerry Eppenger, both of Las Vegas; 38 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will be follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Frederick H. 'Phred' Evans

Frederick H. "Phred" Evans, 79, of Las Vegas died Dec. 22 in a local care center. He was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Springfield, Ohio. A resident for 16 years, he was a salesman and ironworker in home furnishings and construction and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; and one brother, Richard C. Evans of Euclid, Ohio.

Jeanne E. Garn

Jeanne E. Garn, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 13, 1920, in Astoria, Ore. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Girl Scouts, Parent Teacher Association, Western High School Boosters Club and Take Off Pounds Sensibly.

She is survived by her husband, Everett L.; one daughter, Susan L. Garn of Las Vegas; two sisters, Eleanor Smith of Las Vegas and Betty Rollins of Bellingham, Wash.; and one brother, Jack Linquist of Cathlamet, Wash.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Emma E. Gunst

Emma E. Gunst, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 14, 1922, in Canada. A resident for 25 years, she was an accountant.

She is survived by two sisters, Leah Iverson of Oliver, British Columbia, and Rose Balas of Penticton, British Columbia; and two brothers, Zoltan Balas of Mara, British Columbia, and Rudy Balas of Mankota, Saskatchewan.

Shirley Ruth Guthrie

Shirley Ruth Guthrie, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born June 13, 1926, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 28 years, she was a dietician.

She is survived by her husband, Don E.; two daughters, Cheryl Olivas and Helene Guthrie; one son, Michael S. Guthrie; one sister, Claire Ramos; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

John Conrad Klamm

John Conrad Klamm, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Colorado. A resident for five years, he was a retired Coast Guard and Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory Klamm and Anthony Klamm; one daughter, Belinda LoMonaco; one brother, Alvin Klamm; four sisters, Esther, Lillian, Helen and Kay; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Elizabeth Malinowski, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1924, in South Bend, Ind. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; one son, Ron Malinowski of Auburn, Calif.; three brothers, Fred Fershin of Mishawaka, Ind., John Fershin of Santa Ana, Calif., and Frank Fershin of Warren, Mich.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Scot William McKay

Scot William McKay, 25, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. An artist, he was born May 7, 1974, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Charlene Maloney of Ventura, Calif.; his father, William McKay, one daughter, Kylie Rae McKay, and one sister, Michelle Cellini, all of Las Vegas.

Claude L. Meyer Sr.

Claude L. Meyer Sr., 62, of North Bergen, N.J., died Friday in North Bergen. A former Las Vegas resident, he was born in Newburgh, N.Y.

He is survived by two sons, Claude Jr. and Michael; one daughter, Linda Dulanie; one sister, Nancy Keller; one brother, Herbert; and three grandchildren.

John A. Mileti Sr.

John A. Mileti Sr., 42, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 23, 1957, in Massachusetts. A resident for several months, he was a machine shop owner.

He is survived by one son, John Mileti Jr. of Massachusetts.

Felix C. Moscariello

Felix C. Moscariello, 86, of Las Vegas died Dec. 21 in a local care center. He was born March 12, 1913, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, William Moscariello of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, F. Ross Oblad of Las Vegas; one sister, Betty Scott of Deer Harbor, Wash.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Edward Jordan Phee, 44, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 30, 1955, in California. a resident for six years, he was a Buffalo Bill's hotel-casino slot manager.

He is survived by his father, Robert A. Phee of Las Vegas; four brothers, Robert A. Phee Jr. and Daniel N. Phee, both of California, Jordan S. Phee of Henderson and John D. Phee of Texas; and two sisters, Susan M. Phee of Florida and Nancy J. Phee of Las Vegas.

Frances E. Profita, 72, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born May 19, 1927, in Waltham, Mass. A resident for nine years, she was a retired secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Rosemary Arroyo of Whittier, Calif.; two sisters, Eleanor Marchand of California and Alberta Hanes of Montana; three brothers, Tony Umbrello, Phillip Umbrello and Albert Umbrello, all of California; and three grandchildren.

Almond Pete Sanders, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1932, in Hartwell, Ga. A resident for two years, he was a government mail handler, a Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Garnet Faye; one daughter, Pamela Barrett of Needles, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
