Man kills himself by jumping in front of moving truck

A 52-year-old man committed suicide early Thursday by jumping in front of a moving pickup truck.

Witnesses said the man, whose name was not immediately released, had been jumping in front of several vehicles on Lamb Boulevard about 3 a.m., but the vehicles swerved to miss him.

Police removed the man from the roadway and took him back to a nearby halfway house where he was living.

Then at about 5:40 a.m., the man returned to the same area and jumped in front of the truck.

He was struck by the front of the truck and was dead at the scene.

Police said the man had been taking medication for depression.
