Letter: It's better to be a purist than a sheep

As a former resident, I like to follow what's going on in Las Vegas by reading the Sun's website.

In Erin Neff's Jan. 4 Sun story, "Boggs McDonald gets jump on 2001," Neff writes, "In 2001, when the 21st century and new millennium begin for historians and purists ..." For historians and purists? Is that what we're called when we expect truthful reporting of facts from our newspapers?

To demand that our media delivers to us actual facts has made me a "purist?" So what word would you use to refer to those readers who don't have a major interest in reading facts? Allow me -- "sheep!"

Please note, Ms. Neff, that in 2001 the 21st century will begin for everyone, including historians, purists and sheep.
