Robert K. Amadon

Robert K. Amadon, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Vinita, Okla. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired hotel bartender and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Ruth Amadon of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Leroy Ashley

Leroy Ashley, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Elmira, N.Y. A resident for four years, he retired as a glass technician from Corning Glass Co. after 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; one daughter, Renee Thomas of Buffalo, N.Y.; three sons, Ricky Taylor of Compton, Calif., Marko Ashley of Long Beach, Calif., and Darrell Ashley of Elmira; one sister, Isabelle Ashley of Elmira; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30 a.m. until noon services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

James F. Billingsley

James F. Billingsley, 72, of Blue Diamond died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Muskegon, Mich. A resident for 10 months, he was a retired educator and psychologist.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; two sons, Scott Billingsley of Los Angeles and Trent Billingsley of Blue Diamond; one daughter, Linn Billingsley of Blue Diamond; two brothers, Bruce Billingsley of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Gerald Billingsley of Muskegon; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Sarah H. Black

Sarah H. Black, 74, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 20, 1925, in New York. A resident for 44 years, she was a personnel manager for the U.S. government.

She is survived by one daughter, Julia Black of California.

Helen E. Brock

Helen E. Brock, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Douglas, Wyo. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Simonson of Las Vegas, Barbara Heinz of Lancaster, Calif., and Joyce Lee of Billings, Mont.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Joyce M. Butler

Joyce M. Butler, 70, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Ionia, Mich. A resident for 51 years, she was a homemaker and an active auxiliary pioneer with Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by one daughter, EmLee Oldfield of West Haven, Conn.; one son, Eric Butler of Las Vegas; one sister, June Mort of Mesick, Mich.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Monday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Eddie T. Campbell

Eddie T. Campbell, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Sequin, Texas. A resident for 11 years, he was a mechanic for the Clark County School District and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Francine L.; two daughters, Linda L. Spangler of Las Vegas and Rita Hyden of Henderson; four brothers, Michael Campbell, James Campbell and Peter Campbell, all of Sequin, and Roger Campbell of San Antonio; one sister, Betty Hyden of San Antonio; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2520 E. Patrick Lane.

Ida M. Chapman, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 30, 1917, in Wynnwood, Okla. A resident for 26 years, she retired as a waitress after 21 years.

She is survived by her husband, Keith M.; one son, James G. Antuna of Edmond, Okla.; one daughter, Sandra Worrel of Las Vegas; one stepson, Dean Chapman of Carmel, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Helen R. Dean

Helen R. Dean, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 17 years, she was a retired clerk for the assessor's office.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Cardin of Melbourne, Fla., and Gail Dean of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Richard Dean of New York City, Virgil Fairchild of Schaumburg, Ill., and Gerald Fairchild of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Opal, Edna and Mary; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Benedicto Himatay Flores

Benedicto Himatay Flores, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 7, 1946, in the Philippines. A resident for many years, he was a chef.

He is survived by one brother, Rolando H. Flores of San Diego.

George S. Glanzer

George S. Glanzer, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 17, 1913, in South Dakota. A resident for 20 years, he was a government clerk and a veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Dr. Andrew Glanzer of South Dakota.

Jerry Grice, 35, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1964, in Mississippi. A resident for many years, he was a hotel employee.

He is survived by one sister, Donna George of Mississippi.

Kenneth L. Harris

Kenneth L. Harris, 45, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Arkansas. A resident for 20 years, he was a chef.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Harris and Gaylen Harris, one daughter, Kizzy Harris, and his parents, Jertho and Annie Harris, all of Arkansas; two brothers, Jertho Harris Jr. of Arkansas and Nathaniel Harris of Texas; and two sisters, Allison Bernard of Missouri and Cynthia Gupton of Arkansas.

Joseph C. Insera

Joseph C. Insera, 52, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1947, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 19 years, he was a chef and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori Ann Insera of Buffalo and Leila Rose Insera of Las Vegas; two sons, Joseph Daniel Insera and Zachary Bryant Insera, and two brothers, Frank Insera and Russell Insera Jr., all of Las Vegas.

Edward Joseph 'Rocky' Lane

Edward Joseph "Rocky" Lane, 70, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Indiana. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired contractor and a Coast Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie; two sons, Charles Lane of Las Vegas and Joe Lane of North Las Vegas; and one granddaughter, Brooks Lane of North Las Vegas.

Raymond N. Marandola

Raymond N. Marandola, 70, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Providence, R.I. A resident for five years, he was a retired laboratory manager, an Army and Air Force veteran and Korean War veteran, a member of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Council 10442, received an associate degree in arts from State University of New York and continually upgraded his education in the field of medical technology and management.

He is survived by one daughter, Shani Heather, and his companion, Judith Marandola, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Joseph Marandola of Brockton, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 6 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Graveside services will be private.

Dean Brent Nelson, 55, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born May 4, 1944, in Cedar City, Utah. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired police officer, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Police.

He is survived by four sons, Richard Nelson, Michael Nelson and Eric Nelson, all of Las Vegas, and Ryan Nelson of Henderson; his mother, Elva Nelson of Cedar City; one sister, Mary Bell of Richfield, Utah; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Mesa Vista LDS Ward. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Cedar City Cemetery.

Joe W. 'Sam' Pospisil

Joe W. "Sam" Pospisil, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 7, 1915, in Clarkson, Neb. A resident for nine years, he was a manager for Metro Area Transit Co. in Omaha, Neb., and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by two sons, Bill Pospisil of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jim Pospisil of Omaha; two brothers, Jerry Pospisil of Billings, Mont., and George Pospisil of Omaha; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Katherine Rush

Katherine Rush, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 10, 1909, in Tennessee. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a retired florist.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Alice Bedrick and Martie McDaniel; and five great-grandchildren, Matt, Kelley, AJ, Stephanie and Eli.

John C. Sorrentino

John C. Sorrentino, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 18, 1912, in Naples, Italy. A resident for five years, he was a retired clothing salesman and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by one son, Dino Sorrentino of Henderson.

Edward Joseph Turner Sr., 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Chicago. A resident for 15 years, he was truck driver, a member of the Polka Boosters Club and an usher for Guardian Angel Cathedral.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; one son, Edward Turner of Orland Park, Ill.; one daughter, Nancy Turner of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
