Tribal officials close casino at Rocky Boy

Tribal police seized and closed the casino on Thursday.

Officials on the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation had been wanting to review the accounting records for some time, said Russell Standing Rock, chairman of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

"This is in the best interest of the Chippewa Cree people," Standing Rock said. "This is their casino, and it's about time something is run impartially where we can have accountability."

Also known as the 4-C's, the casino is the only gambling establishment at Rocky Boy. It began operating in 1986.

The Gaming Commission voted Thursday to have police clear the casino and lock the doors.
