Letter: We're bungling our decades-old war on drugs

We know that in Holland, drug use among teenagers is similar to that in America, but they don't warehouse drug users in jail and violate civil rights in the name of fighting an inanimate substance. This war only creates a black market and allows drug sales to flourish, thus enriching and arming the inner city youth in unsavory employment.

We need to end welfare to drug dealers because they need to be forced to get a real job if they want money. Also, drug users should be able to afford their habits without robbery. Drug users who need help should not be put in jail when we put rapists and murderers on the street to make room. The Department of Justice's own studies show that in 1994, 134,000 violent sex criminals were released on parole and probation while more than 400,000 nonviolent drug offenders sat in jail.

It's your choice. Either vote Libertarian or find a Demublican/Repubocrat candidate who is not afraid to speak the truth. The truth upsets the establishment, which honestly feels that you are too stupid to decide what you want to do with your body and are more than happy to jail nonconformists.
