Reinhardt resigns as fire chief

"It was a hard decision, but sometimes you need new challenges," he said.

Reinhardt, 49, said he's considering two job offers, one locally and one from California.

They concern part-time teaching and consulting in incident command and wildland fire.

Reinhardt said he now will have more time to spend with his family in their Jacks Valley home.
