The streets of San Francisco may soon extend to Las Vegas.
Three hoteliers have announced plans to build competing, city-themed resorts on the Las Vegas Strip -- including one named City By the Bay, which would replace the New Frontier hotel-casino and replicate several San Francisco icons. To enter the resort, for instance, visitors would cross a mini-Golden Gate Bridge and pass a faux Fisherman's Wharf.
Because San Francisco is sometimes called "The City That Knows How," we thought we'd tell the hoteliers exactly how they should proceed in this high-stakes battle of the bays. Odds are that none of the projects will adopt any of our ideas, so don't plan on doubling down -- even as this theme has tripled up.
