Retired Marine general joins board

Retired U.S. Marine Corps Gen. P.X. Kelley was named a director of Park Place Entertainment Corp., the Las Vegas casino company said.
The appointment of Kelley, a former Marine Corps commandant who served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1983 until 1987, will boost Park Place's board to 12 directors.
During his 37-year military career, Kelley won Distinguished Service Medals from the Defense Department, Navy, Army and Air Force, the Silver Star and other awards.
He is a partner with the investment firm J.F. Lehman & Co. and a director of Exant Inc., London Reinsurance Co. and Wackenhut Corp. He is also chairman of the Irish American Partnership, a governor of the NFL Alumni and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the Alfalfa Club, the Council of Foreign Relations and Rancheros Visitadores.
His appointment to the board of Park Place, which operates 29 gaming properties, is subject to regulatory approvals.
