Witness in Albertson's case arrested

The woman who was with Zane Floyd the hour before a supermarket shooting rampage in June that ended with four people dead was located by Metro Police on Sunday and arrested.

The 21-year-old outcall entertainer, who was last in touch with the district attorney's office on Nov. 18, was arrested on a material-witness warrant near Pecos and Desert Inn roads Sunday night.

The woman has said she was called to Floyd's home through the Love Bound outcall service about 4 a.m. on June 3. She contends she was sexually brutalized by Floyd for an hour before he let her go.

During that time, she told authorities, Floyd had told her he had 19 shotgun shells and planned to kill the first 19 people he saw.

Floyd is charged with entering the Albertson's grocery store at Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard shortly after his encounter with the woman and indiscriminately shooting five people, killing four of them.

Because the woman is a key witness, prosecutors had asked District Judge Jeffrey Sobel for permission to take a videotape deposition under oath that could be shown to the jury at Floyd's March trial if she vanished. Sobel decided that the woman should check in weekly with prosecutors instead of giving the video deposition.

Deputy District Attorney Bill Koot said the woman's disappearance was precipitated by an apparently violent breakup with her boyfriend, who worked as a driver for the outcall service.

Details of the minutes before the massacre can only be related by the woman, who Koot said may be pregnant with Floyd's child.
