Libraries start community meetings

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District has started a series of community meetings to learn what residents want and expect from their neighborhood libraries.

"We want to hear from our customers on what they want to see in the libraries," district spokeswoman Karen Bramwell-Thomas said. "We want to know what programs and services they like, and what they want added."

The first of the two-hour meetings was held Tuesday night at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. Meetings will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. over the next few weeks at all 12 of the district's urban libraries and the 11 outlying branches.

The meetings continue tonight at the Las Vegas Library and Thursday at the Sunrise Library.
