NTS proposed for anti-terrorism center

WASHINGTON -- The House on Tuesday passed a bill aimed at developing an anti-terrorism training center, which could one day be based at the Nevada Test Site.
Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., has suggested the Test Site and it is among several other places that would be considered, along with sites in Maryland and Alabama.
Several federal agencies already use the Test Site, 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, for some counter-terrorism training.
Berkley held a press conference on the issue Tuesday and praised the site.
