Jack Albright

Jack Albright, 75, of York Haven, Pa., died Tuesday in a Pennsylvania hospital. He was born June 25, 1924, in Kelso, Wash. A former Henderson resident, he was a retired industrial refrigeration mechanic from Titanium Metals Corp. in Henderson, founder of Kettle Jack's Homemade Fudge of York, Pa., a World War II Army and Navy veteran and a member of the Steel Workers Union.

He is survived by his wife, June B.; two sons, Bob L. Albright of York Haven and Ronnie Ray Albright of Fallon; two daughters, Linda B. Robinson of Fairview Township, Pa., Joyce K. Materazzi of Newberry Township, Pa., two stepdaughters, Mauricia Jean Schaff of Sandy, Ore., and Denise Y. Gruber of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Albright of Longview, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., New Cumberland, Pa., is handling arrangements.

Kenneth W. Bell

Kenneth W. Bell, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 12, 1925, in El Dorado, Ark. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Connie R.; four stepsons, Dennis Sharp of Loomis, Calif., and Milan Dunsmoor, Mark Dunsmoor and Robin Dunsmoor, all of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Clairae Heap of Bountiful, Utah, and Rosemary Nelson of Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Saturday in the Alta/Jones LDS chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Leobardo Bernabe-Naranjo

Leobardo Bernabe-Naranjo, 16, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 6, 1983, in Mexico. A resident for two weeks, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his father, Demetrio Bernabe; his mother, Maria Elvia Naranjo Guadalupe; two brothers, Jose Bernabe and Geovani Bernabe; and one sister, Jacqueline Bernabe.

Visitation was scheduled two hours prior to 5 p.m. services today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Peter E. Burns

Peter E. Burns, 68, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 16, 1932, in England. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a retired food and beverage manager and a veteran of the British Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Daphne; two sons, Shane Derby Burras of Canoga Park, Calif., and Deven Burras of Littlerock, Calif.; one brother, William Chard of Australia; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Jimmie L. Carpenter

Jimmie L. Carpenter, 56, of Henderson died Wednesday. He was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Longview, Wash. A resident for 10 years, he was a hotel security officer and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sidonie; one daughter, Clarica Baum of Las Vegas; one son, Todd Carpenter of London; his mother, Mabel Carpenter of Longview; one sister, Monette Kohler of Tacoma, Wash.; one brother, Danny Carpenter of Yakima, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday in Central Christian Church, 3415 S. Mojave Road. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert Dalton Cohick

Robert Dalton Cohich, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born March 24, 1920, in Linden, Pa. A resident for 34 years, he retired as a quality control inspector from EG&G in 1987, was an Army veteran stationed at the White House during World War II and a member of Moose Lodge 145 in Williamsport, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Carol H.; one daughter, Betty C. Monteiro of Las Vegas; three brothers, Clair E. Cohick of Las Vegas, Paul R. Cohick of Pahrump and Alvin L. Cohick of Linden; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Alan C. Edwards

Alan C. Edwards, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1937, in Newell, S.D. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired department store sales manager and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons, Glen Edwards of Burbank, Calif., and Scott Shafer of Las Vegas; three daughters, Tricia Stevens and Christy Shafer, both of Las Vegas, and Michelle Karas of Linden, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Sharon P. Gillespie

Sharon P. Gillespie, 63, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. She was born March 21, 1937, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by one sister, Joyce Murray of Illinois.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Illinois. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Dwaine David Keane

Dwaine David Keane, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a railroad foreman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Tammi Wilson of Cincinnati, Dianne Sims of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Sharon Keating and Rebecca Keane, both of Pahrump; two sons, Scott Keane of Casper, Wyo., and Thomas Keane of Las Vegas; two sisters, Dolerice Downs of Pocatello, Idaho, and Janet Brown of Cedar City, Utah; two brothers, Vernon Keane of Las Vegas and Dwight Keane of Phoenix; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 7-9 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Kerry Kent, 37, of Las Vegas died May 22 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1962, in Seattle. A resident for four months, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his father, Arley Kent of Auburn, Wash.

Burial will be in Auburn. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Hazel Krikorian

Hazel Krikorian, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Chicago. A resident for five years, she was a retired human resources manager for a lighting company.

She is survived by one brother, George Krikorian of Cave Creek, Ariz.

Visitation will continue until a 6 p.m. vigil today and 8-9 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens.

Velma Lloyd

Velma Lloyd, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Lena, Miss. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by one son, Theodis Lloyd, and one daughter, Lekishia Lloyd, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2:30-5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Louis Nesci

Louis Nesci, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in Long Beach, Calif. He was born April 6, 1924, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a retired bar owner-operator and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons; two daughters; one sister, Theresa Kitterman of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Jim Nesci of Omaha; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Lillian M. Parnell

Lillian M. Parnell, 85, of Pahrump died Sunday in Henderson. She was born May 28, 1915, in Turkey Creek, Ariz. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired publication manager for the federal government, a member of the Eastern Star and Desert Star, former member of the Elks and Moose and founder of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 2276.

She is survived by one son, Robert Pryor of Santa Clara, Calif.; one daughter, Harriette Forbis of Pahrump; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd.

Thomas Lee Shields

Thomas Lee Shields, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Oklahoma. A resident for 11 years, he was a self-employed painter.

He is survived by his wife, Iva; one brother, Jerry Shields; and one sister, Rosie Bowling.

Visitation will be one hour prior to 4 p.m. services Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Gregory Lee Simon

Gregory Lee Simon, 33, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was born July 30, 1966, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by four daughters, Amber Simon, Passion Simon, Melonay Simon and China Simon; his mother, Lizzie Coleman; his father, Clyde Simon; eight brothers, Cliff Coleman, Larry Coleman, Willie Coleman, Dell Coleman, William McKinley, Lemar Glenn, Charles Simon and Douglas Simon; four sisters, Billie Coleman, Claudette Simon, Angie Simon and Connie Barnes; and two stepsisters, Shirleen Fowler and Roberta Simon.

Rae R. Sullivan

Rae R. Sullivan, 81, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. She was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Hurricane, Utah. A resident for 55 years, she was a retired grocery store food checker.

She is survived by two daughters, Madelon Smith and Alice Haney, and five sons, Larry Sullivan, Steve Sullivan, Paul Sullivan, Terry Sullivan and Greg Sullivan, all of Henderson; two sisters, Mary Langston of Hurricane, Utah, and Millie Dalton of Gridley, Calif.; one brother, Elwood Reber of St. George, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Jose Gamaliel Talamantes

Jose Gamaliel Talamantes, 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 3, 1909, in Mexico. A resident for three years, he was a farmer.

He is survived by one son, Jose C. Talamantes of Las Vegas; five daughters, Socorro Medina, Victoria Perez and Rosa Maria Medina, all of Las Vegas, and Benigna Talamantes and Irma Talamantes, both of Mexico; one brother, Francisco Talamantes, and four sisters, Candida Talamantes, Angelena Talamantes, Maria DeJesus Talamantes and Maria Auxilio Talamantes, all of Mexico; 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Roland 'Frenchie' Talbot

Roland "Frenchie' ' Talbot, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 11, 1916, in Salem, Mass. A resident for six years, he was a retired milkman, a member of the Good Sam Travel Club and the "Q."

He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Burgess and Patricia Williams, and one son, Bruce Talbot, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Chester W. Traynham, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Princeton, S.C. A resident for 39 years, he was a carpenter, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Oasis Masonic Lodge 41, Elks Lodge 1468, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Zelzah Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Vera W.; and three sisters, Marlene Suddeth of Forth Worth, Texas, Frances Loftis of Belton, S.C., and Dorothy Coe of San Diego.

Willie Elmo Walker, 89, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 6, 1911, in Rienzi, Miss. A resident for one year, he was a retired automotive painter.

He is survived by two daughters, Flora Walker-Gillard of Henderson and Shirley Walker of Detroit; one stepbrother, Harry Walker of Corinth, Miss.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Michigan.

Violet A. Wattenbarger

Violet A. Wattenbarger, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in California. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired receptionist for an electrical and engineering company and a member of a senior citizens center.

She is survived by one son, Robert L. Wattenbarger of Boulder City; one daughter, Jeann Chalfont of Indio, Calif.; one sister, Fern Blanc of Carmichael, Calif.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Georgia Janine Youmans, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born June 1, 1955, in California. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Miklos Nagy and Larry Youmans; two brothers, Rodney Sparks and Everett Sparks; one sister, Carrie Casko and Rebbie Haney; and one grandchild.
