Mr. and Mrs. James G. Lamdin of Las Vegas have announced the engagement of their daughter, Vanessa Brownhurst Harmatz of New York City, daughter also of the late Herbert J. Harmatz, to Steven Mark Maniago of New York City.

The wedding will be Sept. 9 at the First Congregational Church of Manchester, Vt.

The bride-to-be graduated from the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore in 1991 and the University of Delaware in Newark, Del. in 1995. She is an advertising executive with the Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide Agency in New York City and a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Emmanuel and Wilma Maniago. He graduated from Loyola High School in Towson, Md. in 1991 and the University of Delaware, Newark, in 1994. He is an industry research analyst covering health care and pharmaceuticals at Merrill Lynch in New York City.
