Man shot in car ID'd

A man found shot to death inside a car early Sunday at a Maryland Parkway parking lot was identified as 21-year-old Ediberto Gomez-Perez of Las Vegas.

Gomez-Perez was found dead about 2 a.m. Sunday in the front passenger seat of a car in a parking lot at 2645 S. Maryland Parkway.

Witnesses told police that before the shooting started a large white four-door car stopped near the victim's Ford. A passenger in the large white car got out and fired several shots into the Ford, said Lt. Wayne Petersen of Metro's homicide unit.

A second man was seen running from the Ford with a gun. He later showed up at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with a bullet wound and a story that he was shot while waiting for a bus, police said. His wound was not life threatening. Detectives are trying to determine his correct identity.
