Oklahoma: Hearings delayed in video gambling case

U.S. District Judge Michael Burrage had been scheduled to sentence John Wallis "Bud" Stefanoff, 71, and Tim Wayne Bowman, 56, on Monday. Both men admitted in March that they had violated federal law by paying their bar patrons who had gained credits on video gambling machines.

Burrage also had been scheduled to hold a hearing Monday in a similar case against Oscar Paul Warford, 53, and Loretta Jean Warford, 60.

The Warfords had been expected to plead guilty June 8. But Burrage left the bench that day without taking the pleas, saying he did not know if he could "in good conscience" take any more guilty pleas in the probe.

The judge gave no indication Monday as to why the hearings were rescheduled.
