Airlines to partner on frequent-flier packages

America West Airlines and Trans World Airlines announced a new marketing partnership today that will allow members of both airlines' frequent-flier programs to accrue and redeem miles on either company's flights.
TWA Aviators and America West FlightFund members will get one mile for every mile flown on the other carrier with a minimum credit of 500 miles per flight.
America West, which has a hub operation at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport, awards free trips beginning at 20,000 accrued miles.
TWA, which has a limited schedule in Las Vegas, is based in St. Louis and has 825 daily flights to 100 destinations with service to the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East. America West serves more than 140 destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
