Bandits rip BayRunners

NBA veteran Marcus Liberty poured in a season-high 24 points as the Silver Bandits defeated the Baltimore BayRunners 111-98 in an IBL game Tuesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Las Vegas (27-20) took the season series with Baltimore (13-27), 4-3.

Liberty, starting in place of J.R. Henderson (hamstring), took the reins early and led the Silver Bandits to a 23-5 lead during the first 6:33 of the game. Liberty scored 19 of his points in the first half.

"We knew with J.R. out that somebody had to step up," Liberty said. "The guys told me step up, so I did. Simple as that."

Jeff Martin connected for a season-high 19 points, hitting 5-of-8 from 3-point range. Isaac Burton scored 17 points and dished out a game-high 13 assists.

The Bandits are off until Sunday when they will host the San Diego Stingrays.
