Community news briefs for March 15, 2000

The 34th annual "Sons of Erin" St. Patrick's Day parade will begin 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The parade will start at Convention Center Drive and will continue north of Paradise Road to the Sahara hotel-casino east parking lot.

The "Sons of Erin" annual Block Party will follow afterward in the east parking lot of the Sahara hotel-casino. The group's annual dinner dance will begin 6 p.m. in the Gold Room of the hotel. Group to conduct a citizenship fair

The Culinary Workers Union will sponsor a Citizenship Fair 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday at the Culinary Workers Union, 1630 S. Commerce.

Assisting the Culinary Union will be One Stop Immigration, a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. For more information call Glen Arnodo at 386-5130.

Adopt-a-thon planned for Las Vegas

Posh Puppies Grooming and Limo Service will sponsor an adopt-athon 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the salon, 4601 W. Sahara Ave. In addition to the usual dogs and cats, they will also be featuring birds, and for the first time in Las Vegas, rescue ferrets will be available for adoption.
