Tuesday's prep results

BASEBALL

Cimarron 16, Valley 4: Roy Ratcliff went 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored and Matt Wagner went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs to give the Spartans the win.

Chaparral 8, Western 1: Soren Nickels pitched five innings, giving up a run on 3 hits while tallying 6 strikeouts. Jon Cavell and Chris Tarzaska each went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for the Cowboys.

Cheyenne 5, Rancho 0: Justin Stephenson threw a complete game four-hitter and hit an RBI double for the Desert Shields.

Bonanza 7, Green Valley 4: The Bengals knocked the Gators from the ranks of the unbeaten, surviving a triple and home run from Green Valley's Nate Shue.

Eldorado 10, Palo Verde 4, 6 innings (darkness): Jason Gallegos got 2 hits and 2 RBIs while picking up the win.

Bishop Gorman 15, Foothill 3: The Gaels used an eight-run fourth to blow out the Jaguars. Brandon Boesch went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs including a grand slam in the fourth.

Las Vegas 26, Centennial 4: Anthony Pluta hit 2 homers and had 5 RBIs and Sean Kazmer added 3 hits and 3 RBIs in the blowout.

Silverado 16, Clark 2: Mike Esragh, Joe Wickman and James Wickman had 3 hits each. James Wickmand also knocked out a 3-run homer in the drubbing.

Basic 7, Durango 1: Matt Elliott tossed a complete-game 6-hitter and went 2-for-3 at the plate to lift the Wolves to the win. Ryan Harris chipped in with 3 RBIs and Mark Rose went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles for the victors.

SOFTBALL

Durango 12, Basic 2: Sara Spenia went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Jessica Wadsworth had a perfect 4-for-4 day for the Trailblazers. Theresa Workman had 3 RBIs while pitching a complete-game 4-hitter.

Centennial 3, Las Vegas 2: Darci Sandoval hit a 2-run homer in the sixth inning to win the game. Kristin Mathewson also hit a home run for the Bulldogs.

Palo Verde 5, Eldorado 1: Nikki Rose went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Renee DiPuccio pitched a complete game 3-hitter in her first varsity start.

Silverado 9, Clark 0: The Skyhawks scored 7 runs in the third to break the game open. Mindy Ogan, Emily Moores and Keely Commerford hit homers for Silverado.

Bonanza 3, Green Valley 2: Trisha DeSimone paced the Bengals by going 3-for-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

Cheyenne 9, Rancho 7: Freshman Megan Whiteaker went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs, 2 doubles and a home run for the Desert Shield. Kristen Miller also went 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

Cimarron 6, Valley 1: Nicole Smillie went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs for the Spartans

Chaparral 12, Western 1: Megan Gilbert went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs to help the Cowboys to an easy win.

Foothill 7, Bishop Gorman 4, 9 inn: Roxanne Ritchie hit a 3-run homer in the ninth inning to lead the Falcons to victory.
