Memorial fund names officer

Metro Police Sgt. David Swoboda has been named the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund officer for March.
The memorial fund is a nonprofit organization that was authorized by Congress to build and maintain a memorial to the more than 15,000 officers who have died in the line of duty since 1974. It also recognizes officers for exemplary work every month.
Swoboda joined Metro in 1979.
Swoboda has worked over 1,000 cases including everything from finding a stolen bicycle to homicide cases.
