Letter: Get impaired drivers off road
Sunday, March 26, 2000 | 10:13 a.m.
If Nevada lawmakers and the governor would send a clear message that impaired driving will not be tolerated in our state, we believe that Nevada could achieve at least a 10 percent reduction in fatalities. Several lifesaving legislative recommendations have been repeatedly rejected by the Nevada Legislature.
Unfortunately, we don't wonder if there will be another drunken or drugged driving crash, but when it will happen and whose family will be destroyed. If the roadside work crews are disbanded, these same young people will still be on our roads and highways as drivers or passengers facing the same impaired drivers. Please urge your legislators to get the impaired drivers off Nevada roads.
