Letter: Punishment of Berosini cruel, unusual

Then on a Saturday afternoon a few days later I sat in my living room and watched the Kentucky Derby with 19 horses "flying" down the field with jockeys "beating" them as hard as they could. All the owners, trainers and fans were cheering. This goes on every day in the horse racing world and who cares? No one -- not even PETA.

Yet, how has PETA gotten away with its vendetta against Mr. Berosini for the past 11 years -- taking away his livelihood, which unfortunately was not horse racing but entertaining people with his talented orangutans. Now they still want every last cent he ever earned and demand that he go to jail -- even though he has now paid them off.

The rationale behind this case is mind-boggling. The horrible injustice is that the judicial system in Nevada, the newspapers, media and casinos have gone along with these animal activists for 11 long years.

No one in America deserves to be treated so unfairly. It should end now.
