RTC runs art contest for local students

The Regional Transportation Commission recognized local students this month for their entries in the fourth annual ATC/Vancom and Regional Transportation Commission Clean Air Act Art Contest.
The contest was open to all students in the Clark County School District. Winners were selected from three categories: elementary school, middle school and high school.
Winning students and the schools they attend received funds for the purchase of art supplies.
Mary Cate Thalgott, a student at the Meadows School placed first in the elementary school category. Alexandra Youngblood of the Meadows placed second and Daniella Young of Walter Long Elementary School was third.
Gedimino Pavlovich, a student at Grant Sawyer Middle School, placed first in the middle school category. Kara Whitaker of Mahlon Brown Middle School in Henderson was second, and Jessie Kuntz of Mahlon Brown finished third.
Michael Vannozzi of Palo Verde High School placed first in the high school category. Mako Winston of Las Vegas High School took second, and Aaron Diec of Las Vegas High was third.
