School bus driver injured in gang shootout

A school bus driver was hospitalized Wednesday after being injured during a gang shootout.

Police said two cars were at opposite ends of a street when people emerged from both cars and began shooting at each other.

Witnesses said more than 30 shots were fired.

The school bus was in between the two cars, police said. The driver, whose name was not released, was hit in the stomach and taken to University Medical Center. His injuries weren't considered life-threatening.

No students were on the bus.

A woman and a toddler in a nearby car were hit with glass, but were not seriously injured.

One suspect was arrested, and police were searching for a second suspect.
