Letter: Our future for a tax rebate?

I just received my government check for the Bush tax cut, and while standing in line to cash it I was wondering if I had just traded my future Social Security checks for $300. Jesus was traded for a few pieces of silver by his friend. Did our friend, President Bush, trade our future for even less?
