Home furnishings retailer Heilig-Meyers Co. will close one of its four Las Vegas-area stores and lay off 20 workers at the outlet at 2021 Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas as part of a move to shut 116 outlets nationwide.
Virginia-based Heilig-Meyers filed for bankruptcy protection in August.
"That North Las Vegas store was underperforming. Once the company got rid of its in-house credit program, the store just wasn't as profitable without it," spokeswoman Maya Pogoda said.
