Letter: Tax cuts won't help most of us

The last eight years the economy has been the best in years. The budget has been balanced, the interest on the national debt has been paid. I'm sure millions of workers are satisfied with being able to pay their taxes while they are advancing in all stages of their lives.

Now that thousands upon thousands are being laid off throughout the country, with no salaries coming in, I'm sure they could care less about a reduction in their taxes, as they will be receiving no salary at all. Meanwhile those that are getting a small salary will get a few dollars more. Yes, as always, it will be the rich that will benefit more from a tax cut. Those making large salaries could possibly buy a new car while those making a small salary might be able to put an extra loaf of bread and a bottle of milk on the table.

The administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush put this country trillions of dollars in debt. Don't let this administration, which got in office by 500,000 less popular votes, do the same thing.
