Gerald 'Butch' Anderson

Gerald "Butch" Anderson, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born June 21, 1925, in Denver. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired hard rock driller in the construction industry and a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Svava; one daughter, Susan Adams of Fairfield, Wash.; one son, Kristjan Anderson of Denver; and five grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Harbor House Hospice, 4011 McLeod Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89121.

Frank E. Butterfield Sr.

Frank E. Butterfield Sr., 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 22, 1929, in Bedford, Ind. A resident for 47 years, he was an owner-operator of a retail business and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Stella; two daughters, Starrlyn Butterfield and Tracy Ann Butterfield, and one son, Frank Edward Butterfield Jr., all of Las Vegas; one sister, Johanna Brown of Bedford, Ind.; and two brothers, John David Butterfield of Tooele, Utah, and Jack Dean Butterfield of Bedford.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas Unit, 2530 E. Carey Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030.

Maxine K. Conger

Maxine K. Conger, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 27, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by two daughters, Katherine Conger and Kristine Conger, and four sons, Ronald Conger, Dana Conger, Michael Conger and James Conger, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Betty Smith and Beverly Asaad, and two brothers, Jim Robinson and Joe Robinson, all of California; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jerome Fishman

Jerome Fishman, 73, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 7 1/2 years, he was a systems analyst for the Social Security Administration, a World War II Army veteran and received his masters degree in statistics at New York University.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; and one daughter, Paulette Salti of Henderson.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Burl 'Bud' Hammons

Burl "Bud" Hammons, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Prairie, Ark. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired chief engineer in the gaming industry.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Paul Hammons of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Lawrence C. Press

Lawrence C. Press, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa. A resident for eight years, he was a retired florist and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; three stepsons, Robert Miller of Las Vegas, Mark Miller of San Leandro, Calif., and Thomas Miller of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Nancy Toroian of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Press of Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.

Carl Sherman

Carl Sherman, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a retired aeronautics executive, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Mankind Project.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Dasteel-Sherman of Essex Fells, N.J., and Wende Dasteel of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; two sons, Spencer Sherman of Bernardsville, N.J., and Derek Sherman of Pacific Palisades; and one sister, Claire Stein of Los Angeles.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles A. Simon

Charles A. Simon, 63, of Henderson died Friday in San Francisco. A resident for six years, he was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Lake Charles, La.

He is survived by two sons, Conrad Simon of Henderson and Shannon Simon of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

James V. Solomon

James V. Solomon, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 14, 1921, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired press operator and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three sons, James Solomon of Warren, Mich., Rod Solomon of Hamtramck, Mich., and Samuel Solomon of Macomb Township, Mich.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.
