Christine Baldwin

Christine Baldwin, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 11, 1917, in Dublin, Ga. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Kaldenberg of Las Vegas; two sons, Robert Watts and Kenneth Watts, and one sister, Gladys Tyson, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

George Bergen

George Bergen, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1918, in Pennsylvania. A resident for several years, he was a retired United Parcel Service employee from Chicago and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Mark of Connecticut; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Clarence Edward Cadden

Clarence Edward Cadden, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was born July 18, 1934, in Las Vegas. A resident for 10 years, he was a security guard and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one nephew, Mark.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Julita Dano Carrido

Julita Dano Carrido, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 6, 1933, in the Philippines. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Mamita Wiley of Las Vegas, Rosita Carrido and Lilia Carrido, both of Spain and Amelita Carrido of the Philippines; three sons, Romulo Carrido, Rolando Carrido and Alfredo Carrido Jr., all of the Philippines; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in the Philippines.

Priscilla P. Castillo

Priscilla P. Castillo, 74, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 9, 1927, in Colorado. A resident for many years, she was a food processor for a bakery.

She is survived by her husband, Jose A.

Abraham Cook

Abraham Cook, 70, of Las Vegas died June 1 in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1931, in Texas. A resident for many years, he was a self-employed handyman, a Korean War Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by two sisters, Millie Croley of Vacaville, Calif., and Bessie of Georgia; and one brother, Aaron Cook of Arizona.

Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Carla P. Evans

Carla P. Evans, 33, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 15, 1968, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a Sprint telephone company sales representative since 1989.

She is survived by two daughters, Erica S. O'Connor and Breeanna N. May, and one son, Treyveon D. Evans, all of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Kendall Evans and John Evans Jr., both of Los Angeles; her father and stepmother, Edd and Margaie May; three sisters, Audrey L. Hampton, Pamela L. Fairman and Angela L. Cain, and one brother, Edward W. May, all of Las Vegas; and two stepbrothers, Roderick Jimerson of Las Vegas and Jeffrey Jimerson of Upland, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Victory Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

John Fitzgerald Evans

John Fitzgerald Evans, 37, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 1, 1963, in Los Angeles. A resident for 11 years, he was a Clark County School District counselor/aide.

He is survived by three sons, John F. Evans Jr. and Kendall Cade Evans, both of Los Angeles and Treyveon Evans of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Erica O'Connor and Breeann May, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Gloria Ramey of Little Rock, Ark.; his father, Aubry Evans; four brothers, Bill Ramey, Asta Ramey, Donald Taylor and Leslie Hildreth, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Melvia Ramey and Yolonda Thomas, both of Las Vegas and LaSonja Harris of Colorado.

Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

A.J. Fache

A.J. Fache, 73, of Las Vegas died June 4 in Las Vegas. He was born March 2, 1927, in Texas. A resident for 10 years, he was an entrepreneur, an Army veteran and a 32nd Degree Mason.

He is survived by two sons, Wynne and Allen; three daughters, Castella, Jewel and Gwen; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Louis Zosimo Ferrari

Louis Zosimo Ferrari, 51, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A chief engineer in the fishing and shipping industry in the Pacific Northwest and an Air Force veteran, he was born Dec. 30, 1949, in San Francisco.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elsie Brown.

He is survived by his father, Peter Ferrari of Collinsville, Calif.; his mother, Jean Ferrari, and one sister, Jeannie Nattress, both of Fairfield, Calif. one brother, Vince Ferrario of San Francisco; and his dear friend, Travis Bluske of Las Vegas.

Services and burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.

Benedict Joseph Fucci

Benedict Joseph Fucci, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 26 years, he was an aerospace engineer and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Richard; four sisters, Josephine, Margie, Toni and Sis.

Diane Rosalee Goldsmith-Wittman, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Nevada. A resident for 35 years, she was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Illinois.

She is survived by one son, Joshua David Wittman; one daughter, Brandy Lynn Wittman-Wootton; one brother, Barry Goldsmith; one sister, Joann Goldsmith-May; and two grandchildren.

Frank P. Gourley Sr.

Frank P. Gourley Sr., 51, of Nevada died Friday in Nevada. He was born Dec. 22, 1949, in Nevada. A resident for five years, he was a veteran of the Air National Guard.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph L. Gourley II and Frank P. Gourley Jr.; one daughter, Nicole L. Hester; his parents, George and Evelyn Schaad; one brother, Joseph "Lynn" Gourley; one sister, Tamara Royer; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Annelore G. Grassanovits, 68, of Mesquite died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born April 24, 1933, in Reichenbach, Germany. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan K. Barr of Mesquite; two sons, Bob Grassanovits of Arlington, Texas, and John Grassanovits of Mesquite; and two grandchildren.

The Rev. Joseph Jefferson

The Rev. Joseph Jefferson, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born Feb. 8, 1920, in St. Joseph, La. A resident for 49 years, he was a carpenter, former pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church and was the first African-American inspector for the state of Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Taylor-Jefferson; three daughters, JoEtta Jefferson and Michelle Yates, both of Las Vegas and Luetricia Jefferson of Gardena, Calif.; six sons, Frank P. Jefferson, Samuel D. Jefferson, Ezran Jefferson, Willie Lee Jefferson and Michael Yates, all of Las Vegas and John L. Jefferson of Gardena; two sisters, Leona Lockridge of Helena, Ark., and Thelma Rice of Spaksville, Miss.; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Verna E. Johnson, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 1, 1916, in Merrill, Wis. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired aircraft company planner.

She is survived by her husband, Axel W.; one daughter, Judy A. Johnson of Las Vegas; one sister, Gladys Heldt of Merrill; three brothers, Myron Kruger of Merrill, Edmond Kruger of Tampa, Fla., and Clairmont Kruger of Grafton, Wis.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Lota Mae Moss, 81, of Las Vegas died June 7 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Washington state. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, James Moss of Las Vegas; one daughter, Linda Brown of Green Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Herrid Pack and Earl Pack, both of Washington; and seven grandchildren.

Charles W. "Bill" Niemeyer, 77, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in El Segundo, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a retired mechanical superintendent, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1975 in Trona, Calif., Veterans of Foreign Wars Ship 1950 in Trona and American Legion Post 684.

He is survived by his wife, Berniece Lyons Niemeyer; four sons, Charles Niemeyer and Paul Niemeyer, both of Las Vegas, Robert Niemeyer of Pahrump and Terry Niemeyer of Arizona; one daughter, Lash Niemeyer of Las Vegas; one stepson, Dr. Michael Scorvo of Salem, Ore.; one brother, Robert Niemeyer of Loma Linda, Calif.; four sisters, Myra Childs and Betty Soape, both of Texas, Mary Lane of Trona and Paula Morris of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Daisy L. Payne, 80, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Minnesota. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a printer for Rockwell Aircraft.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Gerenday and Marlos Sherry, both of California and Mary Jo Woodring of Pahrump; two sons, John Payne of Elsinore, Calif., and Jeffrey Payne of North Carolina; three sisters, Patricia A. VanZant and Betty Casner, both of Stockton, Calif., and Dorothy Rogers of Hesperia, Calif.; one brother, Larry Taylor of Stockton; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

William Perdue, 91, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Cortez, Colo. A resident for two months, he was a retired logger.

He is survived by four sons, Larry Perdue of Grenada, Miss., Phillip Perdue of Pleasanton, Calif., Ronald Perdue of Las Vegas and Mark Perdue of Pahrump; one daughter, Jerry Halvorson of Yarnell, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marguerite "Rita" Schultz, 81, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Washington, D.C. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired secretary in the railroad industry and a member of the Doolittle Senior Citizen Center.

Thomas Andrew Soder, 46, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born July 15, 1954, in Detroit. A resident for 30 years, he was a police officer.
