Summer camp can help make a difference in the life of a child

A 10-year-old girl would benefit tremendously from camp, her mother says.

The girl needs to learn to take responsibility for herself and the camp experience would help her with that, her mother says.

"She also needs to learn to interact with various children from different backgrounds," her mother says.

Sometimes simple things, such as toasting marshmallows or singing around the campfire with other children and being around camp counselors who are positive role models, are the memories a child carries with her through her life.
