Orville G. Albrecht

Orville G. Albrecht, 54, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A laborer, he was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; four daughters, Terri McGill of Iowa, Toni Hemmer and Tricia Schares, both of Las Vegas, and Wendy Scott of Tennessee; one sister, Pauline Albrecht of Tennessee; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary L. Allen

Mary L. Allen, 65, of Indian Springs died Monday in Indian Springs. A retired laboratory secretary who worked at the Nevada Test Site, she was born June 17, 1936.

She is survived by an aunt and uncle of Ohio.

Maria Teresa Andre

Maria Teresa Andre, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Biccari, Italy. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosemaria Andre of Las Vegas; two sons, Tony Andre of Ontario, Calif., and Michael Andre of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Sheila Ann Birkley

Sheila Ann Birkley, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born March 7, 1936, in Indianapolis. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired airline supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, David Birkley of Las Vegas and Tom Birkley of Louisville, Ky.; and one grandchild.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Ohio. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Edward James Bumbera

Edward James Bumbera, 41, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Swissvale, Pa. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired artist/inventor in the aerospace industry, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

A memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St.

Steve M. Castillo

Steve M. Castillo, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a retired federal government foreman, a Navy veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by two stepsons, David Perla of North Las Vegas and Michael Harvey of California; and two sisters, Virginia Castillo of Henderson and Mary Ann Acosta of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Marie Chieco

Marie Chieco, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 21, 1929, in New York City. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired bank administrator.

She is survived by one brother, Mark Chieco, and two nieces, Theresa Sedminik and Carolyn Lawrence, all of Las Vegas.

Thomas Curran, 82, of Las Vegas died July 21 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 11, 1918.

Anna Veronica Fantino

Anna Veronica Fantino, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for nine years, she was born June 7, 1917, in Connecticut.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lunde of North Las Vegas; one son, Frank Fantino of Kalispell, Mont.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Frank C. Garvey

Frank C. Garvey, 82, of Independence, Iowa, died Monday in an Iowa hospital. He was born May 1, 1919, in Fairbank, Iowa. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a retired labor relations adviser for Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Co., a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Wapsipinicon Golf Club in Independence.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Rita; one daughter, Judith Garvey; one son, Richard Garvey; and three sisters, Mary Garvey, Grace Garvey and Dorothy Garvey.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; one son, Frankie Garvey of Las Vegas; one stepson, James P. McGrath of Independence; three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters.

Rebekah Hanson

Rebekah Hanson, 26, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 21, 1975, in Mesa, Ariz. A resident for 26 years, she was a casino cocktail waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Serenity Brown, her mother, George Ann Mayne, and her father, Douglas P. Hanson, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Georgette Byrd of Las Vegas, Daun Shaw of Illinois and Kimberlina Hutson of Maryland.

Olive J. Hughes

Olive J. Hughes, 105, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 2, 1896, in Valley City, N.D. A resident for two years, she was a PBX operator at a courthouse.

She is survived by one nephew, Douglas Dwight Dunlap of Las Vegas.

Johnnie Johnson Jr.

Johnnie Johnson Jr., 69, of Las Vegas died Sept. 1 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Lena, Miss. A resident for 20 years, he was a hotel shampoo porter.

He is survived by four sons, James Johnson of Torrance, Calif., Lionel Johnson and Andrew Johnson, both of Los Angeles, and Johnnie Johnson III of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lavern Johnson Martin of Las Vegas and Melissa Massironi of Torrance; his fiancee, Theresa Johnson of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Alfred Franklin Jones

Alfred Franklin Jones, 79, of Boulder City died Thursday in Boulder City. He was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Utah. A resident for nine years, he was a professional golfer, a Navy veteran, a member of the PGA for 45 years and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalind.

Genever LaGrappe

Genever LaGrappe, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday. A nurse, she was born July 14, 1933, in Texas.

She is survived by one son, James LaGrappe of Houston.

Wayne Arden Lefford

Wayne Arden Lefford, 70, of Las Vegas died Sept. 4 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Bradford, Pa. A resident for two years, he was a machinist and a member of the National Guard.

He is survived by two sons, Frank Steven Lefford of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Marshall Raymond Lefford of Evergreen, Colo.; and one daughter, Anne Lefford of San Diego.

Gertrude Lukanski, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1912, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Chodun of Richardson, Texas; one son, Leslie Berlin of Henderson; three sisters, Elaine Hafetz of Redding, Pa., Marion Feld of Newport, R.I., and Phylis Hendricks of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen MacAllister, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 7, 1914, in California. A resident for 29 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Victor Robinette of South Pasadena, Calif., and David Hollaway Robinette of Kalispell, Mont.

Marjorie Mae Madrigal

Marjorie Mae Madrigal, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 28, 1921, in Mansfield, Ohio. A resident for 11 years, she was a dressmaker.

She is survived by her husband, Emilio; two daughters, Nancy DeMay and Kimberly DeMay, both of Las Vegas; one son, Roger Madrigal of California; and three grandchildren.

Harold Vincent McKenna Jr., 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Chicago. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired certified public accountant, owner of an accounting firm and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A.; three daughters, Dana Lockhart of Tacoma, Wash., Ninette Coffey of Las Vegas and Anna Mielcarek of Henderson; three sons, Richard McKenna and Michael McKenna, both of Las Vegas, and David McKenna of Henderson; one brother, John McKenna of Camarillo, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Frank A. Morris, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Charleston, W.Va. A resident for 85 years, he was an auto body mechanic.

He is survived by three sons, retired Col. Wayne Vincent Morris, Tim James Morris and Thomas Joseph Morris; two brothers, Vincent DiMasi and Louie Morris; three sisters, Mabel Morris, Leena Lauver and Lucy Augustine; and four grandchildren.

Clarence H. Nye Jr., 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 25, 1938, in Twin Falls, Idaho. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired North Las Vegas firefighter who served for 26 years and was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Nye, and one son, William H. Nye, both of Las Vegas; his stepmother, Frances Nye of Chehalis, Wash.; three sisters, Anne Ardith Nye of Medford, Ore., Daryle Nye of Rupert, Idaho, and Mary Frances O'Brien of Colorado; three brothers, Charles Frantz of Murphy Hot Springs, Idaho, Terry Frantz of Chehalis and Frank Frantz of Colorado; and two grandchildren.

John F. Pope, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Jackson, Fla. A resident for six years, he was a draftsman in the steel industry and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Joan M. Jones of Las Vegas; one son, John R. Pope of Colorado Springs, Colo; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Hartley, one son, Michael Rankins, and one sister, Judy Connor, all of Muscatine, Iowa; one brother, Tim Rankins of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Clara M.; two daughters, Jacqueline S. Parks and Marilyn M. Freeman, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Cheryl Wahl of Henderson; three sons, Steven Van Meetren and Edward Van Meetren, both of Henderson, and Robert Van Meetren of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Siemans of Onamia, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
