Steve M. Castillo, 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a retired federal government foreman, a Navy veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union.

A former Las Vegas resident, he was a retired labor relations adviser for Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Co., a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Wapsipinicon Golf Club in Independence.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 48 years, Rita; one daughter, Judith Garvey; one son, Richard Garvey; and three sisters, Mary Garvey, Grace Garvey and Dorothy Garvey.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; one son, Frankie Garvey of Las Vegas; one stepson, James P. McGrath of Independence; three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters.
