Ruth A. Bailey

Ruth A. Bailey, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Tekonsha, Mich. A resident for 36 years, she was a retired typist.

She is survived by her husband, Richard W.; one daughter, Virginia A. Bailey, and two sons, Richard W. Bailey Jr. and Roger W. Bailey, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Lela M. Bradley

Lela M. Bradley, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 26, 1928, in North Platte, Neb. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Triscari and Susan Berger, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Spurlock of Camas Valley, Ore.; one sister, Lucille Evans of Tujunga, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Irving Braslow

Irving Braslow, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 14 years, he owned a restaurant equipment company and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth M.; two sons, Alan B. Braslow of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Larry S. Braslow of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Jack R. Childs

Jack R. Childs, 69, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Orange, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired vice president in the telecommunications industry, a Korean War Army veteran, a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International, a member of the Elks and Merchant Marines Veterans Association, vice president of La Mancha Homeowners Association, a board member of the Henderson Library Board and the Chapel of Four Chaplains in Valley Forge, Pa., an emeritus member of Board Alliance for Children and Families in Milwaukee and an information representative for the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy for Southern Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters, Candy Childs of Henderson, Cindy Morganthall of White Hall, Md., and Cathy Huffman of Lexington, N.C.; one brother, Gerald Childs of Arleta, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Joan Marilyn Cortes

Joan Marilyn Cortes, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 29, 1927, in Kent, Ohio. A resident for 11 years, she was a secretary at Desert Lincoln Mercury and an active wife of a Shriner with the Zelzah Shrine Center.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel; one daughter, Tracy Sartino of Las Vegas; two sons, Todd Del Vecchio of Pittsburgh and Jeffrey Del Vecchio of San Diego; two sisters, Jane Bowden of Massachusetts and Carol Smith of Florida; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Friday in Zelzah Shrine Center, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106.

Charles H. Edwards

Charles H. Edwards, 92, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1909, in Providence, R.I. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the International Teamsters Union.

He is survived by one niece, Loretta Holt of Altus, Okla.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Lousetta McCall Hal

Lousetta McCall Hal, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 24, 1911, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 46 years, she was a hotel guest room attendant.

She is survived by two daughters, Victoria Hall-White and Esther Hal, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Harrison Hal of Jackson, Miss., Cleveland Hal and Johnnie Lee Hal, both of Las Vegas, and Eddie Ray McCall of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Verlie Greer and Easter Jenkins, both of Las Vegas; 57 grandchildren and 109 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dr. Douglas Anderson Hunter

Dr. Douglas Anderson Hunter, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 13, 1933, in Baker, Mont. A resident for 14 years, he was a physician at Southwest Medical Center's urgent care.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; one son, Douglas Arthur Hunter of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rebecca Lynne Hunter of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Hugh Miles Hunter of Fairfield, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

LeRoy John Kellert aka Jerry Anderson

LeRoy John Kellert aka Jerry Anderson, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 21, 1928, in California. A resident for 25 years, he was a room service attendant at the Las Vegas Hilton.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, Marie Kellert, and one daughter, Jerri Lynn Kellert, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Chapel.

Suzan Valerie Jones-Schachtner

Suzan Valerie Jones-Schachtner, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Pensacola, Fla. A resident for 24 years, she was a gaming supervisor at the Venetian and a former employee of the Union Plaza, Riviera and Arizona Charlie's.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; two sons, James Wilmarth and Mark Wilmarth, both of Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Elizabeth Wilmarth of Santa Monica, Calif.; one sister, Cheryl Lymon of Santa Rosa, Calif.

Family and friends are welcome to gather between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at Suzan's home.

Mary Keefe, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Connecticut. A resident for nine months, she was a retired school secretary.

She is survived by one daughter, Maureen Keefe of Derby, Conn.

Orella Isabel Hille Kleih

Orella Isabel Hille Kleih, 93, of Las Vegas died Aug. 31 in Las Vegas. A secretary for the state of Arizona, she was born Oct. 19, 1907, in Dubuque, Iowa.

She is survived by one sister, Laurene Leute of Madison, Wis.; and one granddaughter.

Irwin Lieberman

Irwin Lieberman, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 28, 1919, in Syracuse, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired owner, operator and salesman of a sewing machine repair firm, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Valley Outreach Synagogue and Jewish War Veterans Post 711.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; three sons, James Lieberman of Allentown, Pa., Norman Lieberman of Aliso Viejo, Calif., and Gary Lieberman of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Valerie C. Mensinga, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 20, 1913, in Italy. A resident for seven years, she was a retired insurance clerk.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Cosman and Bill Cosman; and four grandchildren.

Virginia Elizabeth Toney Moore

Virginia Elizabeth Toney Moore, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born July 27, 1920, in Nebo, N.C. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Arnold Moore, Barry Moore, Curtis Moore and Douglas Moore, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Morris W. Thompkins

Morris W. Thompkins, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1913, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired supervisor and a member of Tops for 13 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Toni Lutey and Gail Kovacs, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Marjorie Walden of Dewey, Okla.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Charlotte Mary Trotnow

Charlotte Mary Trotnow, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 1, 1912, in Berlin. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired draftsman in the electronics field.

She is survived by her husband, Harold A.; three daughters, Ingrid Fromm of Hamburg, Germany, Karin Werner of Surrey, British Columbia, and Heidi Hegmann of Loope, Germany; one son, Volker Ehradt of Lubeck, Germany; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will be in California.

Georgia B. Weist

Georgia B. Weist, 91, of Henderson died Monday in a local health care center. She was born March 24, 1910, in Milan, Mich. A resident for 23 years, she was a homemaker and a longtime volunteer at St. Rose Dominican Hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn W. LaVeck of Henderson; one son, Delmer R. Weist of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
