Auction will help group for handicapped

Celebrity-themed chefs' aprons will be auctioned beginning with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rio's Pavilion Ballroom.

The event will benefit Endeavor (formerly Nevada Association of the Handicapped) and will feature line dancing, two-step and swing music, lariat roping, twirling, and a dinner.

Celebrity guests include Danny Gans, Patti LaBelle, Lone Star, Siegfried & Roy, Emeril Lagasse, Gov. Kenny and Dema Guinn, Bill Snyder, the Scintas and Tanya Tucker.

Endeavor will honor Cynthia Jay-Brennan, Julie Gilday-Shaffer and Donna Schick for giving hope to others who face injuries that alter their lives.

Benefit picnic concert on tap Sunday

The Spring Blues Blast, a blues picnic for all ages, will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Caterine Celebrity Ranch.

The fund-raiser will feature performers Scott Rhiner and the Moanin' Blacksnakes, Jimmy Lee Smith Band, The Spellcasters, The Shuffle Aires, Willie Jaye band, Joe Vitale, and Buck Wild Star, a raffle, food and more.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Southern Nevada Cancer Research Foundation.

Patients will be evaluated at Sunrise

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center will sponsor a weekly Epilepsy Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Specialty Clinic, 3006 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 460, in the hospital's Diagnostic Center.

Dr. Shanker Dixit, a neurologist specializing in the chronic disorder and an assistant professor of medicine, will evaluate the nature of a patient's seizures, review medication levels and identify where the seizures originate and what type of seizure is occurring.

Annual fashion show will be held at Stardust

The Women's Council of Realtors will host its annual Fashion Show Luncheon and Silent Auction from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Stardust hotel to benefit charitable organizations and the Las Vegas WCR Chapter.

The Women's Council is a nonprofit community of real estate professionals who create career opportunities, promote success strategies and inspire leadership and individual achievement.

Sponsors include the Howard Hughes Corp., Pioneer Title, Red Rock and Judy Gardner with Silver State Mortgage.

Lied Discovery Children's Museum,

833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, will host National Sense of Smell Day 2002 beginning 10 a.m. Saturday. The event will feature perfume-making, a demonstration on how animals smell, a smelling bee, an essay contest and a visit by Dex the Amazing Dog Detective. The 12th annual AIDS Walk
